The theme is Charitable. As I read the book, some chapters was about charity. Each line in the poem represent part in the where the main character talks about charity. The phrases describes a scene in the book when nuns was collecting charity. This picture relate to the poem because it's the salvation Army who is collecting money for charity in front of a department store. Just like it said in the beginning of chapter 16. I believe this is one theme in the story.
