Old Jane

I still couldn't get her off my brain

She was a funny girl

She was sort of muckle-mouther

She never really closed it all the way

She got excited about something her mouth sort of went in fifty directions

She got in her golf stance when she was reading a book

She read a lot of poetry

She was the only one outside my family, that I ever showed Allie's baseball mitt to

She'd never met Allie or anything

She knocked me out though

Holden spent a lot of time with her over the summer, she's very important to Holden, she is one of the few girls he actually respects and finds attractive at the same time which explains why he got so angery when he found out that Stradlater had a date with her Holden is very fond of this girl which is why she's very important in the story.
